How do you know this and were they in catchment or OOC? Reference?

If this link is accurrate:

https://www.nfer.ac.uk/research/centre- ... ile-ranks/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And standardised scores are the same (implied in the name) then 104 is the 60th percentile so if 1000 took the test then 40% (around 400) got above 104.

If true, it makes it even harder to understand the Email which implies people are safe above 104 and only recommends additional schools if below 104. I would suggest putting down a second or more choices anyway. The problem for those who have applied to multiple grammar schools is which order the put them in, something which would be obvious if knowing for sure if the DC had got in.

You need to be a little careful looking at this if your score is an average of two or more scores. The standard deviation reduces, meaning you have less getting the higher scores and more closer to the average.

In theory the large sample size will take care of that. Still just a rough guide barring actual scores. Hopefully the 386 girls mentioned above are in fact the scores for both boys and girls (both schools) otherwise it is hard to see how Redbridge can claim a "pass mark" of 104.

if it helps at all last year my daughters score was 120.15 and ranked 45th. This year my son got 123.18 but we're actually waiting for a Latymer letter. Had hoped the ranking from Redbridge would give us a better indication. Any more Ilford C H scores out there..?

"Pass mark" appears to be the same, ICH mail mentioned 104 as well. And 106.97 as last year's cut-off.

My DS's ICHS result today was : 104.32. From what I'm reading here I'm not particularly hopeful! Have emailed the council for more info. What's the point of saying your child has passed if actually they won't be getting a place? Why not rank so you have an idea where you are (in our case near the bottom of the waiting list)?

It also messes up your contingency planning which for us is forest, Bancroft or Chigwell.

Congrats to all the DC btw.

Hi all not really impressed with the way Redbridge has emailed us my DS got 104.25 and I'm wondering if this is a pass now. I have emailed the council for more clarity, I must say maybe this years pass mark was 104 or above and last year was more??

like other parents in this forum I am a bit confused with Redbridge email, we applied for ICH and DS scored 127.57 but the email went on to say this is not a guarantee that your son will be offered a place. what is the score out of? I would be grateful if someone could explain it to me as I'm very confused at the moment.
