Can you resubmit the CAF?
Using the eadmissions.org.uk portal to submit preferences and have selected 6 schools, whilst still undecided as to their order of preference. If you've already submitted your selections, (and as long as it's before deadline) any idea as to whether you can change and resubmit your preferences?

With Southend and Essex, you can retrieve and resubmit at any time up until the deadline - it should be in the guidelines on the Redbridge website?DSDSDD wrote:Using the eadmissions.org.uk portal to submit preferences and have selected 6 schools, whilst still undecided as to their order of preference. The same for Herts.
You can amend your choices as many times as you like right until 1159pm on 31st October. DG

It's not 23.59 everywhere, so definitely best to check on the relevant LEA website.

That is why I specified Herts after you confirmed that this was the case in Southend and Essex.
Perhaps others can confirm the deadline in their area. DG

Re: Can you resubmit the CAF?
Can you change your mind after getting offered a place o if a child really hates the school in the first few weeks? Can you go to your 2nd choice instead? Is that possible?
Re: Can you resubmit the CAF?
You can go onto the wait list of that school but you will not get an offer unless they have a spare place and your DC is top of that wait list. You really need to decide now.tahm563 wrote:Can you change your mind after getting offered a place o if a child really hates the school in the first few weeks? Can you go to your 2nd choice instead? Re: Can you resubmit the CAF?
If you changed your mind after an offer, you would have to ask to go on the waiting lists of any school you might be considering - where you sat on that waiting list would depend on their admissions criteria etc and you might, for example be classed as a late applicant etc. At the point where a child has started at a school, you can’t just try out the schools, working your way down your list, as you are offered your highest choice school, as are others, and any school you listed lower on your CAF is likely to be full. Again, if they were very unhappy, you could ask to join another school waiting list but there is no guarantee of a spot.

Thank you ToadMum.....appreciated.
Have selected 6 schools across the spectrum (but not yet submitted ) within the portal, after the initial chat (post-results and subsequent open-day visits) between myself, the DW and our DS. Discussed his preferences (most important) and his reasons why, along with both his, (and to some extent) our aspirations, the practical logistics & commute options, friends/siblings, activities, amongst other things. Told DS to 'sleep' on it and we'll have another chat within the next couple of days before we make our final submission. He's the one that has to spend the next 5-7 years at his destined institution.
