Hi,

With Redbridge and Kent OOC test dates clashing for 2019 exams, Is there a way that a redbridge child can be allowed to sit in Kent test.

Has anyone got any leads in terms of alternatives. Please advise

Thanks
Nilesh

Surely the distances mean it isn’t practical for most people to want to sit both unless you plan to relocate? DD sat Kent test as OOC several years ago (but we are on borders and so not far away) and the OOC date was very clearly non negotiable. Since then the message from Kent has been even sterner about sitting the test for schools that many won’t be able to attain so I doubt they will be very understanding about requests for dates. Have you tried contact ring the Kent test or Redbridge test organisers to find out their stance?

In the information for parents, under Unable to take the test on Saturday 14 September 2019? , Redbridge states with regard to reasons for being allowed to sit the exam on the reserve date:

However, the reasons do not include a clash of test dates with a school not in the group of particular CEM schools as listed above and on the online registration.

So probably no joy there.

And for Kent you need to look at this - where the reasons for sitting the alternative test date are set out.

https://www.kent.gov.uk/__data/assets/p ... 020-21.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It also give you the telephone number for the Secondary Admissions Team who should be able to help you. I would give them a call and see what they say. It would be helpful to others to update this thread with what you find out.
