What part of East London? Have you looked at Crest Coaches?

As a full blown grown up who does this journey in the car on a daily basis to get to work I would urge you to reconsider the journey and look at alternative schools or a train rather than car.

Have you thought about what your DD? / DS? will do if they want to try out for / get into a school team / take part in after school activities / just hang out with friends for an hour or so at the end of the day (presumably you don't think that the travel will be tiring and there are some nice little cafés still open in Southend at 4pm)? It's a bit of a pig of a walk to and from Chalkwell station, but the trains are frequent and s/he can always do Greater Anglia to Southend Vic and get the 21 or the 29 instead of c2c.

Like your previous post on the subject ToadMum, I doubt if you'll get an answerToadMum wrote:Have you thought about what your DD? / DS? will do if they want to try out for / get into a school team / take part in after school activities / just hang out with friends for an hour or so at the end of the day (presumably you don't think that the travel will be tiring and there are some nice little cafés still open in Southend at 4pm)? For the sake of a grammar school, parents think it's a worthwhile sacrifice. With mental health issues for secondary school children on the increase I don't think parents do consider how serious the implications are.

OP I would urge you to do the drive yourself at the appropriate time of day, have a day out and then do the journey back at the appropriate time. After doing this, sit down with a couple of hours work/homework and then have a good think about whether you really should be asking your 11yo to do this for the next 5-7 years!Rkmum wrote:Anyone interested for Car pool in to westcliff grammar school from East London?
