Hi, my daughter was first on the waiting list on 25th March then she became 3rd and now she is 4th. Does anyone know why ?

It will be people taking late tests & becoming eligible or moving closer to the school or moving up.the list in some other way, depending on your local admissions criteria. People may ask to be added to the waiting list if they didn't apply before, depending on what is allowed locally.

Those from the Common Catchment Area who put QE / CRGS / CCHSG as a higher preference and got it, now facing up to the reality of the journey that they were intending to inflict on their DC and changing their preference?

Waiting lists have to be held in oversubscription criteria order, so with any 'new joiner' the list must be re-ranked in this way.

It can be things like people from out of area who took the test moving in catchment, or people who before were going to send private and didn't apply for state then applying for state or even there were errors in the original list. When my daughter was on the list it only went up once by two places rest of time was down. There is also some grammar swapping and could be people have just changed preference order.
