Have been reading through posts over the last year and now need some help!

My DS who is currently in year 4, will sit the Grammar Test in Autumn term 2012. We are based in Cheltenham and are looking for a tutor in the area. DS is not interested in home tutoring as he sees this as an infringement of his play time, however he has said that he does want to go to a Grammar and will go to a tutor! Is this fairly typical for a 9 year old boy? Am I starting too early?
He is in the top 5% of his year group at primary and has consistently achieved SATs 2/3 years above the expectations for his peers (his primary does optional SATs every year). His teachers and the head have advised that he has potential but have advised to look at private tutoring as there are techniques needed that he wouldn't gain from primary school.
If anyone can make any recommendations please PM me.
Many Thanks.
