Re: CEM practise resources help
@Daogroupie could you please explain why Bond Standard tests packs are not good for preparing CEM?
Re: CEM practise resources help
From what I've read on this forum, the Bond books seem quite easy when compared with CGP and FPTP books. Having said that, I've bought some Bonds books for my son to work on through the holidays.StackOverFlow wrote:@Daogroupie could you please explain why Bond Standard tests packs are not good for preparing CEM?

Re: CEM practise resources help
We used Bond CEM pack and found the long math section very hard for a 10 year old. Other sections are ok. Haven't used the standard pack though.

Golden-Jubilee, what's the standard Bond pack?

Re: CEM practise resources help
Bond produces multiple choice question papers and standard questions papers without multiple choice (I think).
Here are the two types. I have the CEM one only.

When Bond is mention, do you mean the individual subject booklet . - the *** assessment papers?Golden_Jubilee wrote:We used Bond CEM pack and found the long math section very hard for a 10 year old. Other sections are ok. Haven't used the standard pack though.
We find that is ok. But the Bond 11+: CEM Standard Test Papers are much harder - in general.

Re: CEM practise resources help
We found CGP books especially the 10 minute tests the most useful. Also the FPTP comprehension and close books. There is one set of papers that are awful. I didn't check through them properly before giving them to my DS and it was really difficult and I felt terrible after. It really affected his confidence. I think they were the set that someone linked to earlier. I will double check in a minute. Luckily he recovered from this and passed easily.
I will have a look through my papers to see which ones were the best. I have a feeling they were the ones that came from a local revision centres where my son took 4 mocks. I really recommend doing these. By the actual test my DS was feeling confident but of course will depend on your child.
