All CEM Papers are same?

Re: All CEM Papers are same?
If you are not planning to move somewhere else, I would just forget about any other area's exams, whether or not they are the same as the CCHS one. Unless you think your DD might like to go to Colchester County High School, Westcliff High School for Girls or Southend High School for Girls, which are all accessible (sort of, anyway) from Chelmsford? In that case, familiarisation with the format of the CSSE papers might be a good idea.

There is absolutely no reason at all to even contemplate travelling from Chelmsford to Slough just for CEM tutoring.
I am sure forum members local to you will be able to recommend a centre or tutor that can give you a hand. DG

Hi DG,Daogroupie wrote:No they are not all the same.
There is a group who hold their tests on the same day, CEM super Saturday and are prepared to share results but others are different papers and different weightings.
The core ingredients of CEM are NVR, English VR called Verbal Abiility and Maths called NR , Numerical Reasoning.
Some schools such as DAO, SW Herts and HBS do not include the NVR.
Others such as DAO and SW Herts do not include the NVR or the NR, only focusing on the Verbal Ability.
You can tell if they use CEM by looking at the sample paper on the website, those who use the same CEM paper have the same sample paper.
Bucks and CCGS are not the same. If you look in the Bucks region you will find details of the CEM. DG
We plan to sit St Paul's Girls School online pre-test this month. We understand that they follow CEM format.
As all CEM are not the same, would you be able to please guide us regarding the format SPGS follow?
Any advice on resources for practice will be very useful too.
Others who have gone through SPGS process, please share your insights.
