No state school can do this. They all have to adhere strictly to their own admissions policy. If that policy says you have to be in catchment by a set date to be counted as being in catchment, that’s the rule and there’s no discussion to be had.

You’ll need to check each one to see what the dates are. Some might be the 31st October, others might be earlier. It doesn’t give much time to move, as you may not get results for some until mid October.

You may also need to show that the move is permanent and not reversible.

bogdanforex you need to be very careful - if you plan to keep your house and rent in catchment, you are VERY likely to find yourself possibly being investigated for address fraud (as in they will look very closely - most require you to have permanently disposed of your other house, to ensure you are not just renting to get yourself the school place.)

By using “real” tests as mocks - ie taking tests in areas you have no intention of going, you are immediately displacing another genuine candidate - this is sometimes referred to as exam tourism and is a particular problem in Bucks. If you genuinely have no chance of being allocated a place in a Bucks grammar school, please do NOT sit the rest in Bucks as you are then forcing a local applicant to go through the **** of selection review and appeal.

There are plenty of paid for mocks you can do to give your child experience whilst you check which schools you could actually apply to (which is different to school areas you can take tests in.)

In response to the person who told you if your child did well in the test a school might be more attracted to them - unfortunately for you STATE schools have to follow the Admissions Code - if you are not in catchment or whatever other criteria they use, even if your child scored full marks, they will not bat an eyelid, let alone offer them a place.

If you want that kind of response, consider applying to private schools. They tend to be less fussy where you come from, ultimately have to fill every class so even if your child doesn’t do brilliantly might find space if you are paying fees, and if they have done well might sweeten the deal with a small scholarship. Some of them are as hard to get into as grammar schools but others less so - check carefully though as you don’t always get what you pay for!

And, since they are permitted to and generally do charge you for the privilege of having your DC sit their entrance exam, they probably don't mind at all being used as a mock for somewhere else. Unfortunately, indie exams are nearly all a few months after state school entrance exams, though.

However, plenty of commercial companies run mock '11+' exams, though, and will let you register your DC to take as many as you want, so no need to affect the future of other candidates genuinely hoping to qualify for a place at a given school, by using a 'live' exam to give your DC exam practice.

Why can't you pay for your child to sit some mock exams?

Did you not read the guidance when you entered your child for all these exams?

Have you considered that there will be many children who will only take one exam because that is either their local school, or they have siblings at the school?

In Bucks the top scoring 33% of the cohort will pass. If your child is in that group they will have pushed out one of these children who would otherwise have qualified.
Then that child and their family will have to go through the soul-destroying process of selection review/appeal.

And by the way, what you are thinking of doing with renting/moving into catchment is not allowed and if you are found out then your child's place will be withdrawn.
