Queen Elizabeth Boys Class size
Hi just out of interest, does anyone know what the average class sizes are at this school?
We are thinking of preparing DS for this school in a few years time but we are looking for small classes, which will be better for our DS who has autism.
There is an open day soon which we may not be able to attend but I wondered if anyone knows.
Thanks

The North London selectives all have class sizes of 30 with the exception of HBS that has 25.
QE is a 100% selective school so all students in a year have taken the same exam in order to qualify for a place. There is only one formal entry point which is Y7. There is no entry point at sixth form but places that come up in other years are filled through examination with approx 50 boys sitting for each place. DG

The form size at QE is 30. Many class sizes are much smaller though. In years 7-8 the year is split into two, with each half being timetabled separately. For many subjects, particularly Maths, Science & English there are four sets in each half, which will give approx 22/23 per class. In year 9, the whole year is merged for some subjects, so for example Maths & Science, these subjects will have 7 sets, not 6, meaning there will be approx 25 in each set. This setting gives the school flexibility in set movement and means lower sets can have significantly smaller numbers if needed.

For what it's worth, this year HBS is admitting 104 girls, so I assume the form sizes will be 26, rather than the 25 of the past few years.Daogroupie wrote:The North London selectives all have class sizes of 30 with the exception of HBS that has 25.
