Re: habs offer - anyone?
I assume you are talking about Habs boys not Habs girls.
Habs girls came out by email today. Habs boys is not out yet.
You need to post this in Herts and North London section not general eleven plus topics.
There are plenty of members in that topic who are waiting for the Habs results.
Did you get Sr Albans results today? DG

Re: habs offer - anyone?
yes, apologies, I meant Habs boys - congratulations to all dd's !
daogroupie - Thanks also for moving me to the right forum
We got our offers from MTS & St. Albans but ds (as are we) is really keen on Habs.
St. A is a great option but really love the "campus" feel of Habs & MTs.
MT is too far for us when I think it through and would only work if we moved from PottersBar to somewhere closer Mill Hill, Stanmore? which I'm not keen on as we 2 younger kids who are happy and settled.
Feeling blessed and grateful for what we have and fingers x'd for Habs to come through today (ds wasn't feeling too confident after his interview)
Thanks for your input and good luck to all those who are waiting...

Re: habs offer - anyone?
St Albans is a fantastic school. All the boys I know there are really really happy and I know boys who have turned down sibling places at DAO and Habs and MTS to go there.
We are very lucky to have so many great schools on our doorstep.
St Albans is also a city with loads to do and an important Roman town with a great museum and other roman remains. Perhaps you could spend some time there during half term and he would then feel excited about going there.
Hopefully there will be an offer day soon where you will meet other boys from Potters Bar going there. I know at least two. DG

Re: habs offer - anyone?
Thanks DG for your reply and encouraging words.
However, we can't help but feel a little disappointed as it's always been top of the list. And more so as I know ds has been very keen on it. Although last few weeks he's been saying he's not as he prefers the others. Could be a defence mechanism? Either way really proud of him
I'll take your suggestion of spending time in St. A and hopefully that will help to create that sense of excitement we all need.
DH is happy to move closer but I can't seem to get my head around that...
Luckily already had a celebratory dinner last night at Prezzo regardless of todays result.

Absolutely no need to move. Potters Bar to St Albans is very easy. I did it every day for years while I was working in St Albans and dds were at DAO.
The coach will be a lot of fun and he will meet other local boys on it like the two I know. DG
