Is it possible to be 2nd on the waiting list (Yr7), even if child didn't have enough marks to sit second round HBS test Sept 2017?
Someone I know is saying her child is sitting a test in a few weeks to take place for a child who is suddenly leaving in Feb "apparently" could this be true?

I know this is from last year but the answer is no.

300 students were given a place in the second round exam.

Not all of those students would have sat the exam but there are more than enough applicants from the second round exam.

That is why HBS chose that number; to give them more than enough applicants from the second round.

Band A applicants, which is the highest possible mark in the second round, did not all secure a place by September 2018 so HBS would take from the waiting list to fill any places from those who are leaving.

It is only in higher years like Y8 and Y9 that HBS do hold exams for external applicants to fill the spaces.

No applicant who failed the first round would be considered for a place in Y7 when there are so many candidates who did pass the first and second round who are still without a place.

However if they asked to be on the list for any spaces that come up in Y8 and Y9 they night be invited to sit the in year exams that take place for those years. DG
