Had guessed that, but with lawn fertiliser there is no long lasting damage.. it just becomes a different shade of green for a few weeks, and doesn't really get noticed until the grass is cut,
Re: Year 13 Final day school pranks
I think these 'people' wanted to leave a lasting 'mark' - the area had to be replanted and took years to blend in.

Excellent
In a way these kids will stay connected through social media, Facebook, snap chat whatever is around in the next 30-50 years so their friendships will stay unlike those of us who left school and lost touch
As parents what would you like to have done or suggest a few ideas:
In my day in the early eighties we hid time capsules around the school, in false ceilings etc. I often wonder if they have been found, and tempted to go back on a open evening to find out......
So far we have fertiliser
Numbered chickens 1 to 4 with only three being let loose
Rubber ducks in the swimming pool
Cigars and Port.................
Flour and eggs is so seventies, better the new water pistols and nerf guns
No graffiti school property has to be respected
Floor is open

Re: Year 13 Final day school pranks
Don't people find these 'pranks' just a little....naff? They're a bit faux-anarchic, aren't they? I think it's nice to mark the end of formal schooling in a fun way, and if done well, can be an event that the pupils and teachers enjoy together. I find it a bit sad to see teachers who've spent seven years doing their best for the students having to be on "guard duty" outside the gates of the schools on these leavers' days because a section of sixth formers can't be trusted to keep things civil and in check. I wonder how many students who've done something daft to school property or caused a nuisance to their teachers will be back on results day in tears and needing the support of those teachers because they've missed their university offers?

For the last couple of years, our Y13 have had a school day where they all go paintballing together. Seems to work really well as everyone is involved and leaves and return to school together, (so they can get their usual school buses in together). There are no lessons that day, so nobody is missing anything. They also have lovely Leavers Assemblies and the Headmaster hosts a leavers garden party for students and parents in his garden as well, towards the end of term.

Aylesbury High School did just that last week. It was civilised and the teachers joined in.KS10 wrote:Year 13 - bouncy castles and fancy dress

DD's year 11 last year had a trip to Thorpe Park. Sadly timetabled for one of the compulsory induction days at her first preference sixth form .kenyancowgirl wrote:For the last couple of years, our Y13 have had a school day where they all go paintballing together. Re: Year 13 Final day school pranks
Sir Thomas Rich's has a pond in the quadrangle. Every year there were rumours that such and such were going to throw such and such in the moat(as it was known). But every year it came to nothing. Until one year when two boys who shall remain nameless decided they had had enough of the rumours, and would without letting anyone else know really do it.. so one unfortunate y13 (chosen completely at random as he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time) ended up in the 'moat' immediately after morning assembly as the whole school was filing out..
the students in question were lucky that Mr 'Danny' Pilbeam liked a good joke and saw the funny side when the two people explained that they were just trying to fulfil everyone's hopes. They only got a stern talking to.
