Hi, is HBS going to hold an induction day for new Year 7 girls ? My dd will join the school in September but I am a bit worried as we haven’t heard anything from them since the offer day in March. Has anybody heard from them ?

They have an induction day in July. They will contact you in due course.

There is also a bowling evening organised by the parents' association, think that is also in July.

Sounds great. Is it for parents and girls?

The girls bowl and the parents stay and chat. It's a nice way to meet other parents. Some of the Year 8s help out too. My dd really enjoyed it, she came out feeling she had loads of new friends!

I think there is also a picnic in late August but in our year the weather was terrible so it was changed to ice-skating.

Thursday 5th July is Induction day and Friday 6th July is the Summer Party.

Thanks we finally got it! We are relieved.The only thing is that my DD's sports day is the same day as the induction day!! She doesn't want to let down her house and miss her last sports day.... But Induction day is very important and she wants to go there as well...

Exciting though it seems (my DD did enjoy the HBS induction day a couple of years ago), your DD may want to make the most of her final sports day in her primary.
