DAO first round music results

Apparently there is a letter for me at home from DAO Admissions, I think it's the first round music results (as it can't be the main results yet).

It's like torture ... I'm at work! Will have to wait until later

Yes they always like to under promise and over deliver.

They said it would be posted by today but it most have been sent yesterday.

DS didn't meet the required score. Only 2 marks away! What a shame.

But he would have struggled to get through the audition round anyway.

Fingers crossed the academic results are better news.

Trakka, how did your DD do?

OP this was us 5 years ago. Even though we knew she struggled with that type of music questions (and ironically would have loved the audition!) it still felt a little bit of a blow. But dd's other test results were fine so fingers crossed for you all too.

Thanks loobylou, I'm waiting for DS to get home so I can tell him.

I imagine he won't be too unhappy as he would have been nervous about audition stage.

I wonder how many get through first round in music, I only know of one so far out of our friends.

The main results will not come for a while yet.

The backup date for the SW Herts CEM paper is not until Wednesday 3rd October.

The QE results will come first by email late in the afternoon on Friday 5th October and you have not even sat that exam yet!

There are usually around 100 who get through to the audition, although some pull out especially if they are focused on the QE exam and do not want the distraction of preparing for an audition. DG

Sorry to hear that Ale. My DD just scraped through but based on her Ashmole result I'm not putting much hope in a top 10 place! We are thinking of good experience for her. DD is very keen to do it. The advantage of the DAO audition over the Ashmole one is that she can play a 2nd instrument but still don't know how much that will help!

Congratiulations to your dd Trakka,

DAO have big orchestras and bands to fill so those who can play two instruments are in a good position. Dd1 played two instruments and sang in her audition using every second of the five minutes allocated. DG
