QE boys test results arriving today. Please post here

The parents of applicants will receive an email today with the test results.

This email will include a score for English, a score for Maths and a total score.

It will not include any indication of the score required to get a place on 1st March because at this stage QE do not know what this score will be.

Last year the lowest score to get a place on allocation day 1st March was 231 and the lowest score to get a place in September was 229. This was number 23 on the waiting list.

The lowest score to get a place in the past six years is 222. So anyone with a score of 221 and below has a score that has not got a place in the past six years.

231 has always got a place every year for the past six years although some students on 231 who live further away had to wait a few weeks this year.

We do not yet know how many sat this year but the fact that QE had to go to a second day for the first time indicates that the numbers must have been higher than last year. The total tends to go up by about 200 each year.

There are working day tours of the school next week that can be booked on the website.

Last year they were only for boys and their parents who had secured a score of 220 and above.

This year they may well place the bar higher, perhaps 225 as it was still in the 230s for March, April and May last year.

QE is non catchment so living somewhere like Reading will not make any difference to your chances of getting in unless you get exactly the same score as someone who lives closer in which case they will get a higher rank.

Those who securing 240 and above are in a very good position and are very very likely to get a place on allocation day.
