The top ranking letter is Ranks 1 to 192 this year.

It is not yet clear how many different letters there are this year. DG

But only for those who get the second letter so they can see how near they are to the 192 cutoff point for a guaranteed place.

Those in the 192 are being told if they were in the 192 for all three papers but not their actual rank.

What is the cutoff for the second letter? DG

A friend's DD was within the 192 rank and she was given a firm offer with a congratulations letter.

"The school will be able to offer 192 places for September 2019, giving priority to applicants residing in the Inner Area in order of the age standardised results for all three tests. At this time we are not able to confirm an offer to «firstname» but please be aware that not all students who receive a firm offer will take up their place."

what are DS's chances with a rank of 260?

So there are just two letters as there were only 650 candidates remaining.

By giving the rankings in the second letter they have removed the need for the third letter.

There was a 450 plus letter last year.

Sorry to hear your news Bandhan but I can tell you that there will be a lot of students in the 192 who were using it as a mock or as a back up to QE, HBS and DAO.

Rank 293 would have got a her a place of the waiting list in 2014 and 2015 and in 2016 and 2017 it would have got her straight in.

This year it was 281 so i really hope it goes a few more places for you this year. DG

DS has received the 'first letter' - ranked between 1-192. Difficult choice ahead; he has a sibling at QE in Y10, and hopefully he has has scored enough (233) to be offered a place at some stage. However, with the 3 year QE experience and my-still-to-be-fully-understood circumstances for the 'cull' I am inclined to go for Latymer where he will have more local friends, rather than having to commute for over 1.5hrs to Harrow to hook up with QE buddies like his elder sibling. We live in North London.

You have a great choice ahead of you. Many would give a great deal to have the choice of just one of these great schools.

This earlier than expected result by Latymer gives you two weeks to decide. DG
