This is because of the sharp increase in siblings this year which has taken the intake for September 2019 15 places over PAN to 215 and reducing the amount of places available for distance applicants.

It seems to be a bulge year as none of the waiting lists are moving. DG

Oh really.

Thanks.

It is the only one that is moving.

DAO has only moved 6 places in 11 weeks.

HBS just 7

Thank you.

This will be because of the CATS tests and new parents and students evening next week.

It really is the time to make a decision if parents are holding state and private school places.

It could well be just one place as there could be a couple of ranks missing.

It is great that at least one more student is able to be there next week to meet their class and form teacher. DG

Also, it’s just about now that people are getting appeal results. So someone could have won an appeal for a place at another school somewhere and that could result in a bit of shuffling of the other waiting lists.

Does anyone know the answer to this (DAO website is not clear). If a child qualifies via distance to school (3) AND sibling (4) criteria which one is applied? Siblings get automatic places but not sure in this circumstance if the would qualify under (3) or (4) ??

The highest criteria comes first so it would be distance. DG
