HBS is not reknowned for quick admin! It is much smaller than QE, so please be patient with them...

What happened this year? No waiting list movement. Is that all girls going to HBS?

There is no movement in the North London Selectives this year.

QE is still on 13, HBS is still on 7 and DAO is still on 5. The ranks have moved 7 spaces from 110 to 117 but I happen to know that two of those ranks put another school first and got it so it has only moved 5. DG

What about Latymer? Do you know how far they have moved. They seemed to go out a lot further on first round this year?

Yes.

All the DCs I know of who applied got a place on allocation day.

If there is a waiting list I don't know of anyone on it.

Anyone out there on the Latymer waiting list?

Latymer has got to at least 28 on the waiting list and may have gone further by now.

I know of 2 children who had rankings in the 500s - closer to 600 than 500 - who have accepted places from the waiting list. Seems such an anomaly compared to previous years.

It was even worse two years ago.

They ran out of applicants and had to write to parents asking them to make a late application. DG

How peculiar and yet last year they stayed within the 450. I wonder why?

I am fairly sure that this within 450 figure is only for the children who were in the catchment whereas the close to 600 figure being mentioned above is from parents giving their child's rank within the cohort that took the exam and includes the OOC children. This causes a lot of confusion for parents and may lead to mistakes in CAF choices.

The 450 last year comprised of in and out of catchment children.
