Thanks, that's 2015 data. It was once, probably a couple of years ago, when there was significant movement in WL and last entered score was 224... not expecting it this year maybe then...

Why do you think it's 2015 data? Toadmum's link is to the 2018 Allocation and WL thread.

Here's an interesting post from that 2018 thread:
hjhj wrote:We will have an idea end of March as to how far it will go. Interesting figures are that whatever position waiting lists goes by end of March, it has always gone twice as much, eg. 2013 End of March it went to 19 and it ended up at 38( The most sluggish waiting list ever).last year it went upto 27 by Easter holidays it went up to 79 due to extra 12 spaces , but otherwise it would have at least gone up to 54.......
Clearly, 2018 ended up being even more sluggish than 2013! Started on 12 at the end of March. then it seems to only have gone to the 20s.

Started on 13 this year...

The last score to secure a place for September 2018 was 229 in mid September (a move of only 2 marks from March 1st) compared to 224 the previous year.

I think the days of a score in the 220's getting a place are now over. As the last score to secure a place on March 1st was four marks higher this year we can assume that the last score to get in this year is probably going to be 233, possibly 232.

As I always say that whatever number on waiting list we get on Easter Holidays it at least doubles itself by the September. We have a start at 13 so it can be safe to assume that it might drag upto 26 at least.

Hello,
We had our first preference (Tiffin Boys) allocated on 1-March. We kept Tiffin since we live close by. But my child's heart is still on QE where he got the score 262. QE is actually our 3rd choice in CAF. Is it possible to request the school to keep my child in WL? I'm exploring the options to move closer to QE if he gets in. I know we're very late in reacting, but I'm wondering if there is any chance. Any suggestion is much appreciated. Many thanks.

You will have to give up your Tiffins place in order to go on the QE boys waiting list so then you will lose your local option.

Does your son really understand that your whole family will have to move so that he can go to QE?

Do you have other siblings who will have to move schools?

What does your ds think he will get at QE that he will not get at TiffinsG

This would be major disruption for your family and you could have already missed the last place to be allocated.

Is it really worth all the hassle? DG
