Extended Project Qualification. It is effectively a research project and write up.

Would anyone strong at Maths be looked down on if not doing Further Maths. DD2 is now aiming for Physics but perhaps she will aim for EPQ. Thoughts?

DD did an EPQ. It’s a lot of work/stress compared to doing maths A level, and whilst she enjoyed it, found it useful and did very well, she also found it took up a lot of time.

If your DD wants to do physics/maths/engineering (Or any other maths heavy subject), then FM is probably a better choice.

Worth checking what the various unis ask for in their entry requirements, but I doubt she would be looked down upon not having FM though if she has her heart set on an EPQ.

Also bear in mind that an EPQ is seen as half an A level.

Thanks, she is not enrolled at the moment even if aiming for Physics, will keep in mind after all three A levels are sorted and Unis are reassessed.
