QE's Entrance tests over 4 days this year?

Post by CluelessDad »

Looks like QE are taking government guidelines seriously and have earmarked 4 days for this year's tests?

17th, 18th, 21st & 22nd September

Not surprising as over 2500 boys turn up for these tests.

How it's going to work as children who are doing the exam on 18th, 21st and 22nd are going to be in advantage. They will get to know the type of questions, comprehension etc from the kids who did it on 17th.

The children who have taken the test will just have to keep quiet!

From past experience parents of prospective QE students (or for that matter any grammar school parent) take the test very seriously. It is in their and their children's best interest not to give any unfair advantage to children who take the test on a later date. There is always a backup date in previous years for those who are not able to make it on the main test date due to illness or some other issue.

From past experience as well, the moderators here are vigilant and swiftly remove any information inadvertently posted that may give advantage to those students who are taking the test on a later date.

As a general rule of thumb please do not comment on anything exam related until all exam dates (and backup dates) are over. Even little things like number of questions and time available etc. can give unfair advantage to children taking test on a later date. Please also ignore any direct messages until all exam dates are over.

Just to add, be very cautious with the tutors. Most information from children is actually extracted by them.

So not only is your DC unwittingly potentially aiding others to better them in the exam, you are actually paying for that privilege .

I have been told they will be using a different paper for each of the days. Is this true? I really don’t think it’s fair to be using the same paper over the 4 days knowing that children/tutors/teachers can and will extract info.

Where did you get the information of new papers each day? I don't think there will be any difference, we just have to keep faith.
