Re: latymer, catchment area and ranking
if you don't get QEB then Latymer will be considered to be your first choiceGrammarschools wrote:Yes, QEB is our first preference but DS is in 210 to 220 range, not much hope there. Latymer is our second choice. So added latymer as our second preference, will that be a problem? Thanks

Re: latymer, catchment area and ranking
Music students and FSM students can secure a place with a much lower ranking into the 900s.
The last score to get a place at QE this year by September was 229 and there are still students on 229 waiting. The variant each year has never been more than 2/3 marks and the lowest it has been in the last 8 years is 224 so it is unlikely to reach 220.
However, as already stated, you will automatically get your second choice if the QE allocations do not reach 220. DG

Re: latymer, catchment area and ranking
I hope so too.
As there is huge overlap with students sitting QE, DAO, HBS, Habs, St Albans, Highgate etc and so many not in catchment I think you have a really good chance of the ranks reaching you. DG

Well done to you and Ds for scoring high enough to get into QE.

Re: latymer, catchment area and ranking
That is 100 more than last year so lot of candidates should move up the ranking'Would you please let me know, for September 2021 year 7 entry - how many students reside out of Latymer School catchment area in the first 650 ranked in standardised score order. (318)'
Re: latymer, catchment area and ranking
assuming they are distributed evenly, for each 100 placws we can assume there is 45 about ooc. So there is about 90 candidates in the top 200 which will not apply. And in the the 400s perhaps we can dismisss 180 places.
This gives IC candidates a good chance. Even candidate ranked at 650 would be 332
I think they have extended the date to move into catchment though. Still only a dozen or so move

Wow, 318!
That's good news for those of us in lower ranks. Latymer should really change their English paper to a multiple choice one and only have one round. They had to mark 650 papers but the English mark doesn't matter if almost all of 650 who has applied get a place.
