QE boys - private transport/minibuses
Hi, when we went for the exam there was a company handing out leaflets offering a private minibus service door to door so to speak. I didn't take one as I hadn't an earthly how well my son would do. He ended up with a score well over normal cut off, so the school looks like an option for us! Does anyone know the name of the company? We are not on the normal school coach routes (although irritatingly not far away) and I'd prefer not to have to drive him to the bus stop. Have asked the school but am aware they have no link with them and no response yet. Thanks!

There are a few private mini buses that comes to the school. I have seen when I drop my son there. However, I don’t know where they come from or any contacts. I can check with the what’s app group in my sons year to find out if anyone there is using any. What’s your location?

Thank you. We are in Radlett

It's one of the easier journeys for being not quite in London. Assuming you're near the station it's really quick to Borehamwood station (less than 5 minutes I think) and then the 107 bus goes from the station to the school. I think the majority of boys travel but public transport so I suspect there will be others doing at least part of the route.

The 107 is (in normal times!) packed with QE boys.
The minibuses tend to bring boys from much further away, and you'd need to get another 4 or 5 boys near you to make it worthwhile. If you do commit to a minibus, your son won't be able to do any after-school activities.

To Poniesrock, I checked with my son’s year but no one in the group uses a mini bus from Radlett. If I find out any details, shall post it here.

Hoping to get some transport advice - my son has luckily got a place at QE and will be starting in Sept. We live on the school coach route (Walthamstow) so we will use that for most days, but we would love for him to be able to join after school activites too.
Does anyone know if there are CRB checked school run taxis that can help me with that journey, maybe once/twice a week to speed up his commute home?
Thanks in advance!!

If I am not mistaken, an enhanced DBS check is a requirement to get your private hire license. I normally use my local taxi company for my son's commute whenever needed. They send different drivers. I am sure there are be specialised school run taxi services as well who use the same driver for the commute but the service will cost extra. Personally, I will just use my local taxi firm.

Thank you jazbaati99! I will ask my local taxi firm to see if I can arrange something.
