Wow. I would have thought that suggests that this a really weird low-sibling year by some coincidence, at least for the Islington students. Normally they seem to have well over 30 students from Islington in each year with plenty of siblings.
The only other factor I can imagine is parents deciding that they don't want to send their children so far on public transport in a covid/post Covid world but I'd have thought that was a less likely explanation when 90% of the students travel by public transport anyway.

The last rank to get in was 85, 29 ranks down from last year.

The last Music rank was 14.

86 siblings, 3 staff.

Over PAN by 1 numbers offered 201

282 registered for Music Test, 1021 for academic exam.

There were 8 spaces left for academic offers from Islington.

1 music place, 2 looked after and 9 siblings.

Last distance space 402.06

First time in over twenty years that the DAO ranks have not gone past 100.

29 ranks down!

This will impact all the other schools as that is 29 students taking other places who would have taken DAO. I think the Sunday Times School of the Decade definitely had a hand in this. The waiting list usually goes around 9 places but perhaps we won't see the same movement this year.

I don't think it will go past 100 at all this year. Almost 45% of the spaces that became available at this time last year are not available this year.

Hi everyone, I am new to this group.
We are on the waiting list for DAO .. apparently at position 7. Any hope for a space before September? Any idea how far down the waiting list it has gone in previous years?

We have been fortunate enough to secure Latymer which was our second choice but the sibling policy at DAO and the feeling of children being well supported at DAO really swung our decision making process to rank it as school 1.

Highfive you should have been sent a waiting list rank.

Check your junk email and if not then email and they will send it to you.

Normally the waiting list ranks go down around 9 places from the rank they stop at on allocation day.

Last year it stopped at 114 and the last rank to be offered a place was 123, so 9 places.

But that offer was not made until late August.

This year the ranks stopped at 85 so it would seem that the ranks may go down to around 94, but 91 is already Waiting List 4th and 101 11th so there are ranks missing who ranked other schools higher than DAO.

Miracleshappen, it would be helpful to know your original rank because then we can work out what ranks are between 91 at 4th and your wl place at 7th. I would guess you are 94/95/96th. DG

So that means that 92 and 93 are both on the waiting list , which means 91 is 4th 92 is 5th, 93 is 6th and you are 7th with 94.

It stopped at 85 which means there are two ranks absent between 86 and 91 but none between 91 and 94.

Highfive if rank 94th is 7th and 101 is 11th then you must be 8th, 9th or 10th

Last year you had a good chance of getting in.

This year there has been no movement yet.

This time last year the DAO waiting list had already moved to 119 from 114 which was the last rank to be allocated a place on allocation day. DG
