QE waiting list has already arrived in mailboxes. DG
Presumably, they (or the maintaining LA, whichever deals with the waiting list at this stage) want to wait until they have received at least the bulk of confirmations / refusals of places offered (whichever way round it is done there) before formalising their waiting list? Rather than potentially have to coordinate responding to daily enquiries from some parents, whilst still dealing with the updating of the list.

They need to release the list today and then do the one figure update of the waiting list number the list has reached each time there is movement. This is what DAO and QE do and it is the most sensible approach.

Latymer has the confusion of having given out different rankings so now they need to do waiting list numbers. DG

So Latymer allocate a static number (like, for example, one's car has a fixed VIN) and that number stays the same, regardless of other people joining the waiting list, who have a higher priority than the person currently in last place? How are their waiting list numbers allocated? As e.g. 12a / b / c etcetera, if they rank between the initial no.12 and no.13?

Lots of other schools manage it with different admission criteria and students appearing on more than one list in a different position.

2nd round rank 395 (revised rank after removal of non catchment ranks 272) has been offered a place. DG

I think that must be the first round rank DG, as our revised rank is 320s (previous 520s) and we have not been offered a place.

sorry final rank 420, revised rank after removal of catchment 272.

This is why Latymer needs to move from ranks to waiting list numbers as there are too many different ranks involved. DG

Last ranking is 283 so 320s is definitely not offered and your child will be in waiting list. Hopefully it will move before September.

Thanks to everyone for the info and good luck to everyone waiting.

Does anyone know what happened next - do the schools offer as places come up or is it a batch of offers before Easter (think I read that before but can’t find the thread now!)

Thank you!
