QE Boys exam pattern

Post by dhanepud »

Hi all,

hope the prep is going on well !

I have 2 questions:
1) We have gone through practice paper on QE website. Is the pattern always the same, for example for English do they always have :
- Comprehension (20-25 Questions)
- Punctuation (8-10 Q)
- Spelling (8-10 Q)
- Cloze (8-10 Q)

or they can add any new section ?

2) Is there any way to get actual past papers to get an idea of real thing ?

Thanks a lot !!!

All the best :)

QE boys does not release past papers.

The papers on the website are there to give you some guidelines on the format, but the number of questions and make up of the exams changes every year.

Over the past 9 years (since the VR/NVR first round was abandoned in 2012) the number of questions and different tasks on the English paper has grown longer and the amount of time allocated to finish them has become shorter.

It has become all about the English paper as so many more applicants do better in the Maths paper.

55 boys achieved the maximum score of 141 in the Maths paper last year but only 5 did the same in English. DG
