Either way, this helps nothing for out of catchment parents like me - we want to put the HBS down as top priority, but if there's indeed a definite chance or not a real chance for our DD to get a place based on the ranking then we'd rather make plans with moving into the HBS area or alternative offers in mind respectively than wait till March (or even beyond) :(
Remember, lots of people who are out of catchment won't have to move if they are offered a place - they will be on a good bus or tube route. Most people only apply to schools they can reach from their current home. Few put themselves through the stress of a house move dependent on the result of an 11+ exam.

If you don't need to move, it doesn't matter that you don't know the ranking - you just list the school in your genuine order of preference on your CAF and see what happens on offer day. Not knowing the ranking is only an issue for people who would have to move - it means you only have six months between offer day and starting school to sort out your new house.

How did the second round go for your dd?

Was she able to complete both papers? DG
She said it went well and completed both, though didn't get enough time with the creative writing piece.

Your last sentence is our concern exactly, we are far away and have to move house based on confirmed place.

the problem with moving house in year 6 is that you have to find another school for your DD to complete the school year

Which makes me wonder why you entered your daughter for the exam? You were always going to be faced with this problem. You were never going to get a confirmed place until 1 March.

Given the number of people in some areas who seem to be not only willing, but apparently able, to complete a house move to 'proof of address' level in the two and a bit weeks between receiving their DC's selection test results and submitting an on-time CAF, six whole months shouldn't really be a problem? And there is no need to look for a new primary school, if you delay completion until the end of the summer term.

Thank you @mad and @Daogroupie. Our first priority is HBS and we are ready to move if we get a place on the offer day . My DD completed her both papers in second round too and our second choice is Parmiter s’ School. Only one thing worrying me is that we are quite far and can’t move nearby before March .

I think here is the link for the offer made on in March 2021.

Yes, the candidate ranked just above 300 with a standardised score of 349.04 has an N19 address and almost certainly squeezed in via the 3 mile catchment.

Only 117 girls had been offered a place by 25th March 2021, leaving up to 183 without an offer. Even assuming some girls didn't apply to HBS or preferred some other school (this early data suggestion 15% of high ranked candidates choosing elsewhere), unfortunately there would still be a lot of applicants to go through before they would have to consider girls who didn't pass Round 1.

Those with second rounds have worked out their numbers carefully with a buffer.

They have years of data to help them finalise a number.

Those who did not pass the first rounds of Latymer, HBS and DAO need now to focus on other schools. DG

I can understand the hope that parents might hold, especially given that, only very recently, in the academic year that they first allowed out of catchment test candidates, Latymer had to call parents and offer places to IC candidates who were advised in October that their ranks were far too low for an application to be successful.
