QE cutoff for 2021 intake

Post by QEdad »

Any idea what the lowest cut off that was granted a seat on 1st March and also as of 31 Dec 2021 for last year entry please? There is an open query on whatdotheyknow but QE havent answered yet. So any info based on word of mouth would be useful.

Thanks

I doubt we would have that - news of any occasional pupil leaving and someone being offered off the list doesn't often get broadcast

Anecdotal evidence seem to suggest that the score reach 232 last year. 235 on 1st March and 232 by end of year (anecdotal evidence only, may be lower). QE will likely udate the FOI request as the waitlist has now ended for that batch.

It was certainly near 232 in the middle of the summer last year so probably did get there by the beginning of term

It was still on 232 at the beginning of September (before the start of term).

Always one or two who don't show up at the start of term, so it might have gone down to 231 but can't imagine it went below that, even if there were another couple of leavers during the term.

Thanks everyone. My DS scored 233 so not quite sure if he will get it by summer as we may have to think about relocating near his 2nd/3rd preference school. fingers crossed

v hard to know where the cutoff is each year - the year before last it was 232 (I think) and 229 the year before that so things can change. Presume it is too late to relocate and have an affect on chances to get into the 2/3 choice schools? so maybe better to wait and see what happens in March

Yes not looking to relocate to increase my chances. agree its too late. what I meant is for QE I dont need to relocate but for 2/3 pref schools I have to. So in case I get one of 2/3 pref on 1st March and dont get QE until Aug/Sep, it will leave me in limbo as I have to move before the school term begins :(
