A total of 763 applications were made this year and 201 places were offered of which 11 were staff places and 77 were siblings.

The last academic rank to be offered was 102 and the last music rank was 15.

The last distance place was allocated on 454.85 metres.

There were 59 applicants from Islington and the 20 places were allocated as 1 music, 9 sibling and 10 academic.

So students with the highest 15 marks in music and highest 100 in academics get in. This link says it's max 10 for music and 65 for academic places https://damealiceowens.herts.sch.uk/wp- ... h-2021.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; How can 100 students get in on academics then?

Some in the top 100 will not have applied for places.

These are the results that just came out yesterday.

Each student has a unique academic rank and unique music rank.

Places are offered to the highest ranks that apply.

This year five of the ten music places did not apply or ranked DAO lower than a school that offered them a place so the ranked list reached 15 and thirty seven of the sixty five academic places did not apply so the ranked list reached 102.

Now some of those who did apply will turn their place down for private schools such as City and Habs so the ranks will move further. Last year they reached 113 and the previous year 123.

Thanks DAOgroupie and Scarymum. It seems from what you're saying not all student who qualify for a place go ahead to accept/apply for a place so others are bumped up.

Plenty will put other schools first & may be offered one of those, as well as those who don't apply at all, for example if they decide to go to private schools etc.
