It all depends on how many of the 20 Islington places were left when it reached any Islington student who sat the exam.

You are currently on two lists, the exam list and the Islington list.

Last year the total exam list stopped at 85 on March 1st but the Islington list for exam applicants reached 120.

Rank 120 turned it down after allocation day as they had a private school place.

If any Islington place is turned down after allocation day it will be filled by an exam place On allocation day 8 of the 20 Islington places were exam places.

Approx what date was the rank 260 offered last year? DG

DAO ranks did not reach 112.

So we now know that the ranks have reached between 98 and 111.

How much further it goes will depend on where it stops.

I am hoping it is 111. DG

Thanks. I think 260 was very late. Aug/sept and a bit of a surprise. And I do think they were the last one in from Islington. Do you know the last ones in from Islington the last few years?

In 2019 the ranks reached 110 on allocation day and in 2020 114 but last year they dropped back to 85.
If it is back to normal I would hope the ranks will stop somewhere between rank 110 and 114.
Last year was the first year for over 20 years that it did not go past 100. DG
What do you mean by rank please? Where can one see the furthest distances where admission was granted?

Ranking is from the academic or music tests - typically children in the top ~15 get in based on music tests while children in the top ~100 get in based on academic tests. For those, all children are more or less treated equally, regardless of distance as long as they fall within the priority area (https://damealiceowens.herts.sch.uk/adm ... ity-areas/). Technically, I believe if two children scored the same in the academic tests, the one closer to the school would be given priority.

If you're talking about places that are granted purely on distance, I don't believe any information is available for this year but for previous years, you can look here:
https://damealiceowens.herts.sch.uk/dow ... al-places/
(warning: the "catchment" is tiny!)

It's worth looking at the Admissions FAQ on the website if you want more details - it's quite thorough.

I am talking about academic ranks, not distance ranks.

There are three different exams for the academic test. If the total of these three papers is the same then they are ranked by the VR result, if the two are the same then they rank by English and if all three papers are the same then they are ranked by distance to the school. DG

Are u in Islington? Are there two lists for music also or just for academics? (I mean Islington having their own list of ranks)?
