My son went through the process last year. He was on the waiting list for IIford County high but did not get in. The good news is, he got into one of the essex grammar schools and is quite happy there.

There are about 70 something questions or more in both papers. The exams (VR and NVR) are on different days.

They will be given practice tests before the exams. The tests are similar to the exam and have the same number of questions. The invigilator works through the answers with them. They have an hour's break and then they take the real exams. Seems like a waste of time though but that's what they do.

All the best to your child.

Thank you for your reply Blessed.

Glad your son is happy in his new school. How did you get him a place at another grammar school in essex? Did you list this as your second choice school, or contact them when you found out your son wouldn't be given a place at ICHS?

My son did both the Redbridge and Essex 11 Plus exams. Yes, I put the Essex Grammar school as an option on the form.

There are only two Papers - VR and NVR. They don't test them in Maths or English.

Sequence Numbers are in Verbal Reasoning. I don't know if that's what you mean by Maths.
