Not a Good Day!! - UPDATE 21/5/09 - GOOD NEWS
The letter has arrived - none of our choices were given - we have been allocated the local failing school!
Oh well, on the road to appeals.
We will be appealing on over-subscription, and hopefully have good arguements.
I will be back later for advice.[/b]

Herman, one of our defences will be cholesteatoma, our consultant is more than willing to write to the appeals section (she has it in both ears and has had 5 operations to correct it) she now has a small hearing loss - do we find out about class sizes from each individual school, or can we get it through the LEA office?

Hi ATMAll Too Much wrote:So sorry Snowdrops.
Did your DD pass the 11+/get in on appeal? If so, they must offer you a grammar place and surely none of them are 'failing'?! I only ask because RGS was mentioned in a reply to you.
Apologies, if I have got the wrong end of the stick.
North Yorks is odd as it is a huge county with only 2 relatively small areas (centred on Skipton and Ripon) where there are grammar schools. All the rest of the patch is non selective. Both areas get a lot of interest from outside their catchments, Skipton from West Yorks / East Lancs etc and Ripon from surrounding parts of N Yorks partic Harrogate where there are some excellnet schools (non selective but with very tight catchments / faith requirements) and some ahem not such good schools. Snowdrops is desperately trying to avoid the allocated school........
