Hello

Unfort my son did not get into Ilford County High

His score overall score was 223 NVR 62/75 VR 71/90 August born

Position 180 so he is on the waiting list , however this is highly unlikely he will get in.

Anyway this has been a very tough experince for both myself and my son and even though my son was very well prepared scoring ~90% in all papers i put it down to neves on the day , he just was unable to handle the pressure.

So sorry to hear your son didn't get in.

In 2006, my son also did the IIford county exams and his overall position was 156. Although he was 24th on the waiting list, he was never called.

You can appeal though. I know someone who was way down on the waiting list the year before my son did his and got into Woodford County through appeal although I did not go this route as my son had an offer from another grammar school.

Can you tell me as to what would be the best course of action to appeal ?

Is it worth it ?

What would be the best approch

If you think there was anything that prevented your son from performing his best on that day, you can put this forward.

I have never gone the appeal route. I only know of someone that did and succeeded but I did not ask her what she did.

There is an appeal section on this site. You might want to have a look.
