Some of the weaker arguments used at appeal .....

Some of the less persuasive arguments I used to hear at appeals -
  • You would really benefit from having our son at the school.

    We're very active on the primary school PTA. We would hope to continue that level of commitment, and could raise a lot of money for you.

    He's a very small boy, and could easily fit into an overcrowded classroom.

It was many years ago when I heard this for the first time, but I can still picture the scene!

Parents went on to say
If there's no room for an extra desk, we don't mind if he sits on a window ledge.
(It didn't seem to occur to them that little boys might grow up into quite big boys ..... :lol:)
