Test scores - how do they work

Can someone explain exactly how the test scores in Medway work?

Various people have given me various different explanations.

So far, I understand maths and english scores are out of 140(??) then doubled, plus there are extra points for the younger children. Then reasoning is added on (not doubled).

Who's got an idiot's guide for me??

What's the usual pass mark? And what's the highest score you can get?

Math and English papers max scores 140 each.
Verbal Reasoning max score 140 each.

The child's final score is 2x math score, 2x english score and 1x verbal reasoning score.

Younger children do not receive 'extra points' they are age standardised which means they are only compared to children the same age as them.

Kent and Medway are very different

no medway is verbal reasoning only. Kent as you know does both. Scoring is totally different too across the 2 tests.

Yes Yoyo they are quite different, especially considering Kent doesn't even look at the English paper until appeal process, whereas Medway consider the English paper so important they double the score!
