I heard of at least two boys getting in on appeal, which means that they are already at least 2 over their published number for sept 09!! Even if a couple of boys drop out now, the number of boys going into the school would need to drop below the PAN before the school could go back to the CI lists to admit more!

Thanks for replying - nice to know someone is interested - just nice to share. I was under the impression that Watford boys will go over the PAN with the boys that get in on appeal but maybe that is hopeful thinking My son is very low numbers on the CI list and it really hurts when you are so close but yet so far...

Funny how easily you can get caught up in these things - thought I was sooo laid back but maybe not.......

Believe me Laser, we are all interested, and lots of us have "been there" so to speak :P

If it is relevant at all, I do know that, certainly at Parmiter's, several years ago children did start having been offered CI places, in the first two or three days of term, having already got their uniforms for another school, so you never know.....

Thanks again - one thing I will do is post what has happened to my son in the first term - I have found it quite frustrating reading a post of someones stuggles but not always getting the outcome - which makes me think that they must have not got a place - or maybe some people feel embarrassed when they have got a place - but either way it is nice to know how things turned out - so I will be posting my son's situation sometime in September - for future stressed out parents but I know each year the situation changes - very intested in WGSG this year whose scores have always been lower the WGSB but this year seem to be a equal or higher if the admissions statistics sticky is to be believed - I know in my first letter from WGSB they said the lowest score offered a place in the 1st round was 257 and the last time I spoke to them in June it was 248. My son's score is 247 so feel gutted that so close - I only wish I had read this site last year and realised that you really do need to put in 100% effort to get a place - as every point matters... but you know it really does help sharing - I feel my sanity is coming back but just by having two replies.. thanks for the support

Welcome to the Forum

Some people will only post if they have something constructive to add to the thread but we all do read with interest. Your DS did very well and I agree it must be frustrating.

Do let us know how you get on and wishing you luck for Sept and the list moving.

well I have some news on the CI list for Watford Boys,

My DS was recently offered a place!!!

We were top of the list -so very thankful and relieved.

We were also top of list for Parmiters - so now if there is a place it can go to someone else.

Good luck all of you - I really wasn't expecting this so late - so it shows anything's possible.
