Hope this may be of some help to you guys!

Dates have come home from DD's school as they 'host' the 11+ for children who don't sit the paper at their own primary school.

practice paper 1: 19th November
practice paper 2: 26th November

1st paper: 1st December
2nd paper:8th December

Hi, thanks for posting the dates.

Can I just double-check that these are confirmed dates - everywhere else I have looked at has said these are only provisional dates.

Does the exam normally take place in the morning?

I presume these are the official dates but I guess there are many ways to check them. Here goes... contact the LEA, contact your primary school if the children sit the paper there or contact the grammar school you are applying to.

I'm fairly sure the papers start almost immediately after morning registration and so are over just after 10am but again my only experience is when the paper is being taken at the primary school. I think the schools have to all start at virtually the same time to stop any cheating being possible.

Thanks - I've checked with Wirral Boys Grammar school, their dates are the same as yours !

Phew and.... good luck. This site can be immensely helpful - I found it a great support particularly in the last couple of months before the tests. That's why I'm always happy to help as I now have both DD's at WKGS and they are so happy.

I think that the entrance exam for Birkenhead School is on Saturday 30th January - I have applied for my daughter although we are still waiting for our pack.
