Does anyone know how I can find out what the highest scores were in the county in a particular year?

To find out for the whole county you would probably have to ask the Admissions Department. Anecdotally I think there are always a few who get the top score (280 or 282 I am not sure which - edit - well now know it is 282 thanks to NorthLincs!) - I certainly knew of a few bright sparks who got 280 last year. I know they have the standardisation tables but don't know how long they keep them for. You probably won't get the answer over the phone though - might do better with an e-mail. Alternatively you could try the head of The Consortium of Lincolnshire Grammar Schools.

Thanks north lincs, thats very interesting! Can't believe the cheek of the person asking for it but love it! My DD passed, we weren't given a score, as apparently the school is not oversubscribed so it is not an issue. They also said its not constructive to have everyone asking each other what their scores were on the first week.
I will be asking the school what her score was tho as I am curious, might not tell DD tho.
Some poor kids on one estate in our town didn't get their post so will have to go to school today not knowing when most of their friends already do! Thank go d its over! 1 year off then I do it all again with DS!
