yet another music question
DC are going to sit some music exams at the end of this term and I was wondering why there is a delay in finding out if your child has passed/failed and by how much. I know they mark out of 150 (or is it 140?) but they fill in the marking sheet as the child plays so why isn't it given to their teacher at the end? No doubt there is an obvious answer but I'm unsure why it takes over 6 weeks to find out.

Milla - my son's assessment was as written at the time, but that doesn't mean it wasn't moderated.
Moderating holds as much mystery for me as standardisation, but I assume it means that someone looks at a whole range of assessments and might ask some questions if one teacher hardly ever passed anyone and another passed virtually everyone. But I'm sure someone who knows something about music will be along shortly - Reginaphalangie?
