NFER NVR Paper 11D - help on question

Post by richmond »

Hallo

Can anyone assist with question 11 in Section 5 of NFER NVR paper 11D. Its the one with vertical lines on what looks like telegraph poles. The answer is d and I cannot see why.

Thanks

Is it section 4 perhaps?

The change top left to top right is inverted V to X, with poles extending from points of X, 1 black to 3 white...lower right box is 'changed' version of bottom right, and only difference (from top left) is rectangle instead of circle, therefore answer d...didn't realise it could be such a challenge to describe it!!

If 11D, section 4, q11:

the number of "small vertical lines" on each of the "horizontal arms" is equal to the number of "horizontal arm", except d.

Hope that helps.

Do you mean Section 4?

If so - all the other figures apart from d have the same number of little vertical lines crossing the horizontal lines as there are horizontal lines:
a - one horizontal line; one vetical line
b- 3 horizontal lines; each line has 3 vertical lines
c - 2 horizontal lines; 2 vertical lines on each
d - only one horizontal line but 2 vertical lines
e - 4 horizontal lines with 4 vertical lines on each

MUST learn the art of brevity! - NorthLondonMum puts it much more succinctly!

OK..section 4, now I see telegraph poles (cleaned the glasses) .All the others have the same numbers 'electricity connectors' on cross-arm as number of cross-arms. Still difficult to describe!

Give me a telegraph pole and I'll look at it graphically...how can you be SO sensible NLM to use horizontal and vertical, long and short...it took me AGES to come up with that description!!

Thank you yes I see it now - so simple really but both me and DD1 stumped on it.

Thanks to all
