Just wondering what happens if you send a private msg? Im a bit new to all this. Do you pass on your email to the person you are sending the pm to? :?

No. They get a message in their inbox on this site. You are giving nothing away to them.

To access your message, if they reply to you, scroll down to the bottom of the screen. Generally it will say 'you have no new messages'. If you have one, it will say 'you have one new message'. You just click on it.

No it's all very safe and secure. You can only send pm's through the site so no email addresses exchanged and the recipient picks it up when they log on. :)

No. The forum using 'user' names only acts as the mail system.

All they (the receiver) gets is a notification saying you have a PM from
tiredmum
.

You can preview it before it is sent, it looks just like a post on the forum, except it is private.

The post stays in your outbox until the receiver collects it.

If you are concerned send a test one. :)

you can also fiddle with your profile (oo-err, etc) and make it that you are alerted by e-mail that you've got a new PM. This stops you being obsessive, checking all the time. Of course it doesn't stop you LOOKING obsessive, replying within 2 minutes of receiving

Sorry, love, I think I was in Rehab or on a drip or something...
Failing that, throwing a sop to husband who doesn't quite get the appeal of the site nor warm to the hunched form (his wife) slavering away at the computer...
