English paper
Does anyone know what the format of the English paper is going to be this year? Is it likely to have the type of questions which the children have to answer either true or false? If so would it be a case of circling the correct answer to highlight it or crossing out the incorrect answer to leave the correct answer?
I'm getting confused just thinking about it! Thank goodness it's not me sitting the exam!

Hi clr!
I think they can change the format whenever they see fit so only a select few in the know could say for sure what the paper will be like.
The past papers I have had sight of did indeed include true/false questions. The instructions for each question will make it clear what needs to be done. It all boils down to the mantra "read the question". I've said that a fair few times over the past four months, I can tell you.

Thanks so much for replying. I agree with you and will say that so many times again before Saturday. I find it frustrating when my son obviously knows the answer, but maybe underlines the right answer when it says circle the right answer etc. I don't know how strict the marking is, but it is so frustrating to think he could lose marks for this sort of thing. Oh well, at the end of the day they're on their own in the exam, and short of crossing our fingers there's not a lot more to be done!
Good luck to all of them, I wouldn't want to be doing it.
