Langley Grammar Test Feedback?

Post by ardmore »

How was the test for your DC on 7th Nov? My DS found VR okay so finished with five minutes to spare. For NVR he could not complete the paper left about 8 out of 80 questions. Was the NVR paper generally felt lengthy for the time? I am very worried as not amswering 8 questions is going to be decider. The strange thing is the VR was following NVR and I am not sure if that had pressure on the children to finish in a rush? Any feedback on how was it generally?

HI ardmore......

It does seem very quiet following the 'consortium' exam....

Children usually find one paper more difficult to finish than another.....and it could be either way depending on their strengths.
Keeping to such a timescale is difficult in the exam conditions.
I have not had any feedback from the consortium exam but would expect more when the results are out.....if I remember correctly - early December !!!

Son sat it in school on the Thursday. He said timing was close with the NVR and he guessed a few but did manage to answer them all. VR was easy until the last 3 or 4 questions which he says took as long to do those few questions as it took for the rest of the whole paper! His friends seem to agree.

Chad, we get results on the 2nd Dec. This forum seems to have been much quieter this time round than when my daughter did her exams a few years ago.

There is so much more information available on the general threads on the main site and on the 'stickys' in each region that I think answers for most general questions can be found without posting on the forum...... it is only when there is a problem or if something has been missed that people need to post..... this was not the case when my son took it in 2005

My DS said as we came back that it was very easy(especially the NVR) and that he had felt the urge to ask if this was the real thing .He agreed that the last few questions of the VR took as much as the rest of the test.
