Number pattern
Hi
Need your help to work this out.
The numbers in these groups follows a rule.
(4, 1, 3) (7, 6, 3) (9, 9, ?)
Which answer number replaces the question mark?
(a) 4
(b) 6
(c) 7
(d) 8
Thanks for your help

I asked my OH (he's a mathematician who does this kind of thing for fun )
He says the answer is (b)6
(4+1+3) = 8
(7+6+3) = 16
so for the pattern to continue..
(9+9+x) = 24
x=6
