my daughter recived a score of 306 and the ke handsworth final was 321 so were 15 away...we were at the time in the middle of a trial separation to which i feel that may be this may have had an impact on her final scores.

she is on track at school and recived level 5's at sats mock with predicted level 5a maths and 5 for the rest in april.
she had marks deducted as she would be one of the older students dispite the fact that she was born over 2 months prematurely.

we are currently on the waiting list no .137.
is there grounds for an appeal, or is it even by a miracle chance that we may move up the waiting list........

were quite happy to go through the appeal process with all its stresses as i feel my daughter is more than ready for the challenge.

If i had a million in the bank then trust me i would pay, if i could sell my house to get in i would....sound desparate dont i.... i really am.

please please help.
any advice is much appreciated im going outta my mind.  :? :(

Welcome, queen--b!

Have you read the appeal Q&As?

I've a feeling the KE appeals are quite tough, so I suspect you would need a strong case, especially with a 15 point gap.

Is there any evidence that school performance suffered during the trial separation?

The level 5s sound very encouraging, but what other academic evidence is there? See:

I know that, in my own LA, they will remark the 11+ paper for a fee of £25. If the parent then goes to appeal, a copy of the outcome is, I understand, routinely included with the appeal papers - but I don't believe this would prejudice the appeal.

I suggest you contact KE to see if they offer something similar.

hi need some advice ...

Post by queen--b »

hello, have decided to ty for an appeal, feel reall shaky and scared all over again but i feel strongly enough about it.
talking things over im certain that it has impacted on her score.
these are the following items im hoping for...
teachers letter confirming sats 5's.
letter from mamager confirming that there were problems with me
maybe selection of work>?
trying to headteacher letter to discuss pupil cpability
does this seem enough

is there even a 1:1000 chance do you feel as she was 15 points off>
please help and advise im really going out of my mind.
love bobby

hi there, My Nephew is in a similar predicament to yours. He got 312 in tests & cut off was 318. He's consistently good at school in top sets for all subjects & we are going to appeal no matter if it's futile. I advise you to do the same. It's best you tried & failed than never know. Besides we owe it to the kids to battle on their behalf for a good school, they deserve it. Best of luck
