This link will give information on the proposed secondary transfer timetable for September 2011

This is still open to public consultation by March 1st 2010
This is from the sticky on the Glos forum
It's been in consultation for some months - have a look back in this forum.
I know that there are some schools, if not all schools, who are not happy with this - getting the exams marked, details shared with the other grammars then letters out to parents within a week means that they will struggle, probably having to hire extra staff for that week. They also fear that there will be a higher chance of errors creeping in.
It's primarily a move to try & get all grammars in England working to the same timetable.
As for affecting individual children - they'll all be in the same boat. The tutors who have a planned programme working up through 2 yeras / 1 year or 6 months to the old date will be surprised.
I wrote to Shire Hall with my views as to the consultation, and I hope all others who'd seen it did as well!
