Alty grammar transport links - car sharing

Post by Gatley »

Hi Guys,

Now that some of us have got over our ordeal, it's time to consider the practicalities.

My son has been allocated a place at AGSB and I heard from the grapevine that some parents have organised their own bus from Heald Green\Gatley...anyone no anything about this?

Also, if anyone lives in HG\Gatley and is interested in car sharinG for next year please ping me.

Many Thanks.

Hi Gatley

I understand a bus goes through Gatley for the Boys and Girls at all 3 Alty Grammar schools, I believe this is outside the normal 371 bus route.

Hopefully we will be given some information once we get the packs from the schools.

Extract from Zed1's kind e mail. This is a travel master bus.

Tiddlymum: Yes, you're right the 706 goes from Kingsway/Parrs wood at 7.25am! My sons get the bus some mornings and it's for both the girls and boys Alty Grammars. There are at least about 15 that get the bus from this stop (which is the first) and then a whole lot more get on at Heald Green. It's completely full by the time it gets to school.

There seems to be very few boys from out of area (down this end anyway) which is why you don't see many boys in Alty Uniform. Also that might be because they are on the way to school by 7.30 am! It's not as if you'd miss that green uniform with red piping!

Can't help with car share sadly I am going opposite way each morning! Stockport train station also an alternative for us. Think we will try the bus for a while though.

Hope that helps Gatley.

Hi

The things we do.....

Having Quickly scanned my DS will probably have to get off in Cheadle village and walk back and I may drop her someway along the route between Gatley and the Airport in the mornings, if saves her 10/15 Mins  as bus appears to swing out before coming back to Heald Green / Styal rd.

Not far - 5 mins or so. I remember from many years ago the short walk to the place where the different species was to be found.
