Ks2 SATS...What do the levels mean?

Post by roll17 »

Can anyone help with this query.

My Daughter is Yr 5 and was tested in Feb where she got level 5a across the board. What do these results mean? What level are they aiming for come Yr6 SATS and how do the levels work. lowest to highest?

What level comes after 5 ?

Thanks

Primary school only goes up to level 5 for traditional sats (5A being the highest). It may be different if your school is trialling single level sats, in which case I think there is a level 6. Teacher assessment can also go higher than the KS2 level 5.

What a VERY clever girl you have there. You must be so proud of her, getting the highest score for primary school when she is still only in year 5!

Well done :D

The level that is "required " when a child finishes yr 6 is a 4, so to already be a top 5 your child is well above average, and I would have thought should be entered into the gifted and talented program.
