First I look at the words and I can work out straight away that
s = 1
e= 9
a=2
I can then work out from the above that
sale - 1259
s = 1
e= 9
a=2
I can then work out from the above that
sale - 1259
meaning
L =5
then I can workout
last = 5214
meaning
t= 4
then I can work out
team = 4928
meaning m = 8
Therefore using the above I can then workout that
metal = 89425
slate = 15249
18255914 = smallest
Hard to explain without a piece of paper
s = 1

a=2

Impossible is Nothing.
Start by looking for duplicate letters and numbers, the first and last letters are usually the easiest.
Three of the words start with letters which also end another word. But one code 1259 doesn't thus it must be sale.
s is thus 1 so you can work out that 5214 is last
t is 4 so 4928 must be team.
meals code is not listed.
Once you have matched the codes it becomes a simple substitution.

Josa,
Looking at the letters and numbers, you can deduce:
1) Both Team and Meal cannot be represented by the codes as none of the codes have 2nd and 3rd letter the same.
2) Looking at the codes 1259 and 5214, the first letter of one word is the third letter in another word, and both have the same second letter, so SALE and LAST can be represented by 1259 and 5214, although not sure on the order.
3) The remaining code, 4928, is either MEAL or TEAM. But first letter of MEAL or TEAM is the last letter of SALE or LAST since both codes have 4 in first or last place. Neither of these words start with the E from SALE, so number 4 must represent T.
So 4938 represents TEAM, 5214 represents LAST, and 1259 represents SALE.
4) So A=2, E=9, S=1, T=4, L=5, M=8
I think.
